FAQ

1)    HOW CAN I HELP?

You can help most especially with your prayerful support of our mission to build a home for the mentally challenged.   And of course, being dependent upon the generosity of others, the Stephen D. Home relies upon your financial assistance, as well.  Your financial support turns our dreams into reality.

Please check out our “How You Can Help” page for more details.

2)    DO YOU HAVE A WISH LIST?

We have a wish list of chapel appointments, ranging from beautiful, hand-carved statues to wooden reredos and pews that are awaiting a generous benefactor.

The same goes for the building and break-down of the lodge facility, chapel, gardens, and pavillions.  If you are interested please contact us.

3)    CAN YOU USE MY SERVICES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT?

We would be appreciative of any services that could be donated toward the construction project.  If you are interested, please contact us.

4)    WHAT IS THE TIMELINE FOR THE PROJECT?  WHEN WILL IT BEGIN?  END?

We are hoping to begin construction of the lodge and chapel in January 2010.  By the grace of God and through the goodness of benefactors and the overwhelming goodness of God, we hope to be finished with the construction in 16 months time.

5)    CAN I VISIT THE NEW SITE NOW?

Currently, there will be no visitors.  However, we plan to have an “open-house” for the public once the building of the lodge and chapel is completed.

6)    WILL THE PUBLIC BE ABLE TO VISIT THE NEW COMPLEX?

Absolutely! The chapel will be open to the public.  The public will be encouraged to visit often and enjoy the gardens, pavillions, and green spaces along with the residents.

We’d like to see the Stephen D. Home become a popular field trip for schools. There will be many opportunities for service projects ranging from tending gardens and livestock to visiting with residents and staff.
