Prayers

The Stephen D. Home is in need of your prayers. There’s no land, no materials, and no money. There’s just a small group of people who share a common vision and are acting on their faith. Please pray for the Stephen D. Home.

While it would be really great if you remembered us in your daily prayers, or even just once a week at your regular place of worship, we really need your prayers today!

Donate one minute or less of prayer right now. Take your hand off the mouse. Take a deep relaxing breath. Clasp your hands together and say a short, sincere prayer on our behalf.

Thank you for the donation of your prayer.

Prayer to Saint Jude

Most holy apostle, Saint Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Make use I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly -

(Here make your request)

- and that I may praise God with you and all the elect forever. I promise, O blessed Saint Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you.

Amen.

An indulgence is defined as “the remission before God of the temporal punishment due for sins already forgiven as far as their guilt is concerned.” There are two kinds of indulgences: partial and plenary. A partial indulgence removes part of the temporal punishment due for sins. A plenary indulgence removes all of it. This punishment may come either in this life, in the form of various sufferings, or in the next life, in purgatory. What we don’t get rid of here, we suffer there.
