Lodge Facility
The lodge facility will house the residents, institutional kitchen, dining hall (3 meals daily), recreational wellness and fitness rooms. The staff will take care of laundry, housekeeping, barber shop, and security and emergency situations.
The plan for living includes several different bedroom types:
The Suite. Two Double rooms with a shared living space in between. (d)
Natural light and fresh air are two very important variables in healthy living. Every inhabitant will have the opportunity to control the amount of sunlight and fresh air that comes through the spaces.
Water is also vital, and the lodge will collect rainwater, store it, and use it as deemed neccessary. The building’s grey water system would irrigate the property, trees, lawns, and any excess would recharge the groundwater supply.
The lodge will be heated and cooled geothermally and distributed throughout the building in a radiant ystem, coupled with thermal mass to provide energy storage and air circulation.
Materials will enhance the spaces and add to the comfort and enjoyment of the surrounding environment.
